How long should a blog post be?

In a digital marketing workshop in Murray Bridge tonight for Regional Development Australia and the Department of State Development, I was asked this question and shared my Google-endorsed answer: as long or as short as it needs to be.

There was a comment that long posts are boring but I argued long posts are not boring when they are on a topic you care about and are providing you value!

While 300 words is┬áconsidered a healthy minimum for SEO purposes, I stressed you should not pad your writing; if you’re done in 150, so be it. I confessed I’d never achieved such a low word count.

So I accepted a challenge to blog in less that 150 words; and you’re reading it now.

PS I shaped my thoughts for this by doing my first draft over three tweets, below, after a suggestion by Wendy Perry.
