Well, it seems we have reached a stage with technology letting us have our cakes and eat them too, thanks to a plugin and app named Clef.

I’ve been testing this free service for a while now and wanted to share it with you today because I couldn’t bear keeping quiet about it any longer.

I think you’ll love it.

Logging into your WordPress site can be like ‘magic’

The people behind Clef make a good point.

Your site is only as secure as its weakest password.

Even with all the latest security gadgets we apply to WordPress websites developed in Adelaide, a weak password can bring the world tumbling down.

With Clef, you throw away passwords and use cryptography to protect your site.

To get started just:

  1. Look in your Apple or Android app stores for the free Clef app by Clef LLC
  2. Download it
  3. Search for the Clef plugin within WordPress
  4. Install it

Then follow the prompts and you are just moments away from having non-password access to your site (or sites) within about 60 seconds.

2-step authentication for accessing your site just like a wand

The New York Times really set the scene for these alusions to magic:

“With Clef, the often painful process of logging into a site feels, admittedly, a little bit magical.”

When you have the elements loaded on your phone and website:

  • You go to the usual login link for WordPress where you will see a moving suite of bars.
  • You then open your app on your phone where a similar suite of moving bars will be waiting.
  • You hold the phone to screen/monitor and within seconds you’ve been granted access to your site.

You can logout from your phone app and even though it gives you a 60-minute login window, you can click the infinity button to not be forcibly logged out.

Not that that would be a bad thing because, quite frankly, Clef makes logging in fun.

My hope is that this will then help you feel like blogging is fun too!

Talk to your Baker Marketing consultant today if you’d like help setting this up but my tip is you’ll be fine.
