Here is a nifty trick that should make your life simpler, while boosting your online marketing content.
Use Instagram to take or prepare images for your blog posts, without having to open them in Photoshop Elements or similar.
The beauty of using Instagram is that it is a free app that comes bundled with plenty of filters and tools for quickly and easily enhancing or trimming your photo on your smart phone.
And, furthermore, if you’re using this tool to prepare an image for your blog, there would rarely be harm in sharing that image on Instagram or other social networks with a unique caption.
Here’s how it would work.
Shooting and editing with Instagram
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’d know I am a huge fan of Instagram.
This free app lets you take pictures, trim and filter them, add captions with hashtags and @ usernames, and then share them via social networks like Facebook Business Pages and Twitter accounts.
What you might have overlooked, though, is that as well as sharing your images to social networks, you can also EMAIL them.
So, by using Instagram to take photos (or process photos already stored on your smart phone) and then treat them with filters, if need be, you can send them to your email account and save them to your computer.
Once you have your image on your computer, just insert it into your blog.
I shot my hand on my mouse, above, to quickly demonstrate it.
The image arrived at 600 pixels wide, which is wider than I normally use BUT only 39kb in file size, which is just FINE for the web. So, I just chose Medium size within WordPress and that is all that is displayed.
So, if you want a quick, easy way to create web-ready images for your blog AND have some images to feed through your social networks at the same time, consider using Instagram.
